I know it is possible to do, but insanely difficult. I got busted for going through emissions with no cats (failed visual--passed smog). I now have to have proof that I bought new cats (so I can't buy old factory cats and put them on). My thought is that instead of welding crappy cats on my crappy megan racing pipes, I would get the SZ 3" dp/tp combo with resonators, weld my heat shield to those, buy cats from autozone, return them, and show them the resonators and their "receipt". BUT if I am going to spend almost $1k on this setup, I would rather get the 5-bolt. So that means turbos, and possibly manifolds if I can afford it. So here I am, asking how "insanely difficult" it is to remove the turbos and manifolds from under a lift that already have aftermarket downpipes on them.
